I have always worked in communications, in one form or another. After studying modern languages at Bristol, I moved to Australia to join a Sydney-based advertising agency where my clients included several multinational corporations. Although the work was targeted mainly at Australian audiences, I quickly came to appreciate the nuances of communicating as a global company.
An Economist article on the growing influence of financial PR first attracted me to financial communications. This led to six years in the London and New York offices of an international financial communications firm. Here I advised international blue-chip companies on how to communicate effectively with the financial and media communities outside their home markets.
I also advised on high profile cross-border transactions and crisis situations, including Adidas’s acquisition of Reebok and AmBev's merger with Interbrew.
When I returned from New York in mid-2007, it was an easy decision to join the team at Powerscourt. My colleagues come from journalism, investment banking and communications backgrounds and it is this complementary experience, combined with an impressive focus on the media, that both sets Powerscourt apart from its peers and ensures we deliver real value for our clients.
