Following a degree in English from Cambridge University, I worked as a staff writer at Time Warner’s Asiaweek magazine in Hong Kong, where I witnessed the historic 1997 handover of the territory to China. I then returned to London, firstly joining the Financial Mail on Sunday, covering industrial companies, before beginning a five year stint at Bloomberg writing on Europe’s aerospace, defence and airline industries. After more than 15 years in journalism, I took the plunge into PR in late 2006 and joined Powerscourt.
As co-head of Powerscourt's industrials team, I find a lot of the work calls on the skills, contacts and sector knowledge I have built up as a journalist. We have acted as communications adviser to the Woolf Committee on their report into the ethical processes and practices at BAE Systems, and helped advise Aer Lingus in its successful attempt to see off a hostile bid from Ryanair. The variety of clients and work attracted me to Powerscourt and continues to make Powerscourt a great place to work.
