Kay Larsen - Consultant

My career in media and communications began in the early 1990s in Tokyo, where I worked for several years as a translator and reporter at Nikkei, the country's pre-eminent financial newspaper. On my return to London, I joined the equities research department of Yamaichi Securities. I then moved into bank ratings analysis at Standard & Poor's before going back to journalism as a writer at Dow Jones Newswires. During my eight year stint at Dow Jones, I reported on media business news for the newswire service, regularly contributed to the Wall Street Journal and could frequently be seen on CNBC as a commentator. I ultimately took the role of European TMT editor.
After moving from journalism to PR at specialist financial services agency Penrose, I joined the Powerscourt fold in September 2008. What really attracted me here was the profound understanding of the media that the firm displays - an attribute that enables Powerscourt to build upon an already impressive list of clients.
